"My personal Easter Egg: Arnold Bocklin’s painting “Isle of the Dead,” referencing the films of Val Lewton. In Lewton’s “I Walked With A Zombie,” the movie that’s playing when Emily and Maya make out in the theatre [in 1x08]. At the museum show in “Stolen Kisses,” if you look quick you can see it in “Grave New World” in the Collins house, it's the painting that so upsets Ali when she goes to the funeral home in “Surfing the Aftershocks.” And you’ll understand why it made her nervous …if you pay attention."
